Most adults and teenagers with strong and healthy teeth are suitable for Invisalign teeth straightening.
It is important to have teeth that are generally free from tooth decay and gum disease because they must be able to withstand the pressure created as your teeth and tooth roots are forced to move into new positions.
When you see our Invisalign dentist, Dr. Adam Shoukry, he can examine your teeth and jaws and quickly determine if Invisalign is the right solution for your needs.
Problems that can be addressed by Invisalign include:
You can rest assured we will only recommend this treatment if we feel it will provide an excellent outcome.
Best dental experience ever. Professional and very clean office. Everyone from the receptionist to the hygienist to the dentist are amazing. So friendly and patient. You can even watch TV while getting work done on your teeth!
Invisalign may be less suitable for you if you have existing problems with gum disease, tooth decay, or teeth that are weakened and less able to cope with moving.
Treatment is also less suitable for correcting very complex orthodontic problems. In this case, it can be preferable to use fixed braces that provide the precise results needed to correct these issues. In rare cases, dental veneers, bonding or other options should be considered.
Most orthodontic treatments such as metal braces and Invisalign are not recommended for children under the age of 12, because their mouths and teeth are still constantly moving and shifting, making it difficult to predict where their teeth will settle once the growing phase slows down.
Some people are unable to commit to wearing Invisalign trays for 22 hours per day. If you do not wear the aligners on a daily basis, Invisalign will not produce a predictable result, and you will miss out on the results you could have in a matter of months.
